Education Advice for the Next President

The Peabody Award-winning production company Learning Matters has an awesome podcast project going on as we speak (or, as I write—you know what I mean). The series is called “Education Advice to the Next American President.” Students, parents, educators and policy makers were asked what they thought the next president should do to fix the fubar education system.

You can listen to advice via podcasts, read the advice, or submit your own advice. ‘Jubilant’ doesn’t begin to describe how I feel about Barack Obama winning the election, but regardless of my extreme elation, it’s important to remember one of the reasons I voted for him: his education policies are better than McCain’s. Now let’s hope that Obama will follow through with his promise in his acceptance speech last night to listen to the American people.

  1. As a school teacher, my hope is that one day a politician will not only promise grand reforms, but actually implement them once they get in office. I have seen so many false promises that I have adopted the belief that I will believe it when I see it.

  2. Hey Alexa! Thanks for the mention and I’m so glad that you’re enjoying the series. We’re still collecting advice and submissions for President-Elect Obama and we’re hoping to get it to him soon!

Thanks for the support and keep up the great work!
