Journalism Degree Update
Do you ever watch something on the news and wonder what everyone will think about it a few decades hence? This news clip from 1981 relates to the journalism degree post. It’s fascinating. And also like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I wonder if all journalists and journalism majors yelled loud enough, they could yell back to 1981 and tell the San Francisco Chronicle employees to please—for the love of our future careers and yours—stop.
And for anyone who’s curious, you can read below about how the San Francisco Chronicle is doing these days:

LOL! This is too cool. I’m definantely throwing this around the office today (full of older JL majors).
I guess hindsight is 20/20 – 20/20 + lasik if your a scribe writing articles for a living.
Thanks, Alexa! That video was a treat to watch! On the other hand, it is a shame that so many newspaper employees are losing jobs, but there’s certainly no way to stop progress. Hopefully most people have skills that can lend themselves to other areas (most people do!) and with a little training or education they can move on. I guess I could be a little nostalgic about the newspaper, but I love reading the news without getting ink on my hands and cluttering up my house!
